9.27.09

Luke's 3 yr birthday!!!
Today was good - beautiful weather I took advantage of. Once the boys went down for their nap I headed outside for a long journey round the hood. I ended up getting walk with my sweet neighbor and we were able to catch up for a little while - which was very nice. Passed out invites for my bunco party which is next weekend, hopefully it will be a good turnout. Very very sore tonight - two good days of walking. Kelli (s-i-l) came out this afternoon and we had a good time together watching my two goofy boys be crazy. It was a good day and very productive. I baked about 6 dozen cookies to take to work tomorrow and have 11 letters to send out tomorrow.

I know, I'm not the best at this!

So this is supposed to be a daily blog, it's turned more into a monthly blog. Life has been soooo busy, it feels like yesterday since I wrote on here last. Just an update on my progress with the walk, I have raised $900 - Yah!!!!!!!! I'm thrilled, but still anxious because I have a month to go and $1,400 left. I'm right now working on my second round of letters and other ideas to raise money.
Today, I walked about 5-6 miles. I walked in the neighborhood and then walked in a community walk called Walk for Life. It was very nice. It rained (of course) this afternooon so I didn't get my afternoon walk in, but there's always tomorrow to make up :)
LSU pulled off a good win today, the flood waters here in my town are going down, and the sun was out some today - so overall good day. I'm going to write tomorrow, I promise.

Getting back on track....

So you can probably tell it's been a while since I have updated, life has been unbelievably crazy. But that doesn't mean I haven't given up on the walk. I've been walking when I can at night when Tres is home and I sent out the first round of letters this past weekend. I am home with a sick baby today and had a second to send an update. I haven't logged as many miles as I was hoping for at this time, but when I can I walk and I guess that is all I can do. It is beautiful here in Atlanta so maybe now I will be able to push for an extra lap or two at night. My goal is to walk 40 laps in our 'hood in one day which is equivalent to about 20 miles. So far I have done 7 and I'm exhausted, lol, but I know I can do it. More to come soon.
